This paper describes the development of a robot simulator for experiencing the network communication failures that occurs during the remote operation. When the network communication failures occur, maneuvering the robot become difficult. For copying with this issue, we implemented the extended function for emulating network communication failures on the simulator by utilizing the network emulation tools in Linux.

This paper describes the development of an application for emulating the network communication failures among remote operation systems. The network communication failures make maneuvering the remotely operated robot difficult. For contributing the safe remote operation, we developed a tool for an operation training and an experiment to provide the effects of the network communication failures to the traffic among remote operation systems by utilizing the network emulation tools in Linux.
